Laing O’Rourke appoints Managing Director for Europe
18.11.24Laing O’Rourke appoints Peter Lyons as Managing Director for its European business.
Currently the Leader of the company’s Specialist Trading Business Group (STBG), which comprises Expanded, Explore Manufacturing, Crown House Technologies, Select and Vetter, Peter has worked for Laing O’Rourke since 2002, when he joined the business as a graduate civil engineer.
Peter possesses a broad skill set in a multitude of construction methods and is passionate about the benefits of modern methods of construction, which he believes improve technical delivery, sustainability outcomes, and create skilled work which will appeal to a more diverse range of people. He is a member of the Group’s Diversity and Inclusion Council.

“Peter and I will begin a transition in the New Year, and he will start in the role of Managing Director on 3 February 2025.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Trinity College and is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
