Laing O'Rourke host Supply Chain Forum

07.10.21

This week Laing O'Rourke hosted its UK Supply Chain Forum, which was the first to be broadcast to attendees virtually.

The forum which attracted 350 attendees, provided the opportunity for Laing O'Rourke to share updates on topics ranging from the company's approach to safety, health and wellbeing and a discussion around ambitious global sustainability targets, announced earlier this year.

Speakers on the day included CEO Ray O'Rourke, Europe's Head of Procurement, Carol Williams, Group Commercial Director, John O’Connor, and Head of Health and Safety George Mosey.

The day's main event was the question-and-answer session hosted by Europe's Head of Corporate Affairs, Joel Morris, where supply chain partners could ask questions directly to four members of the Group Executive Committee.

The forum concluded with the Supply Chain Awards, which saw Laing O'Rourke celebrate the valuable contribution the supply chain has made over the last 18-months. The awards and winners were:

  • Collaboration Award - Fireworks Fire Protection Ltd
  • Innovation Award - Ramboll
  • Engineered Safety Award - Elta Fans
  • Diversity & Belonging Award - Travis Perkins
  • Sustainability Award - WSP
  • Quality Award - E.Poppleton & Son Ltd
  • Productivity Award - AECOM
  • Special Recognition Award - EHM

We place huge importance on communicating with our supply chain, so it was great to see so many of them take the time out of their busy diaries to join us at this year's Laing O'Rourke Supply Chain Forum.

"Events like these give us the opportunity to update our supply chain and thank them for all their hard work. These last 18-months have been challenging with the pandemic, and our supply chain partners have been key to our productivity and have allowed us to continue delivering certainty for our clients."

Carol Williams Head of Procurement Europe
