Laing O'rourke Scoops Training Award

Laing O’Rourke has received a prestigious award at the annual Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) Excellence Awards.

The award category – Employer Commitment to Training Excellence – acknowledges a company’s dedication to professional development and training in the workplace.

Northern Region Director Darren Weir said the achievement was a testament to the business’s ongoing efforts to attract, develop and retain the best people.

“Our Human Capital commitment, including our training and development programmes, are pivotal to ensuring we develop new skill sets to match the market, as well as maintaining our core engineering and construction expertise,” Darren said.

“The CSQ Excellence Awards recognise the hard work and commitment of apprentices, trainees, schools, trainers, training organisations and employers.

“I want to congratulate everyone involved in winning the award, handed out by an independent industry-funded body. Our goals for the business rely on us having the industry’s very best people at its heart.”
